Liebster award

I was nominated by Sabrina for this- basically you are nominated by a blogger who has nominated 11 bloggers with LESS than 200 followers, and then they ask a set of 11 questions for the people they have nominated. They then answer them and they nominate 11 bloggers and the whole things starts again :) ohh you have to tell the people you nominate too, maybe on their blog page. So here are the questions I was asked, and I will tag 11 people with my 11 questions soon. ;)
1. How did you get into book blogging?
My friend who I met on goodreads has an awesome group blog, and I decided I should combine my love for reading with my brutal opinions. :)
2. What is your favourite kind of book (not limited to genre) to read?
I'd have to say I can read any type, I generally like a book depending on the mood I'm in, my favourites would have to be Realistic fiction, Dystopian, Tragic Romance and sometimes Fantasy.
3. What book do you recommend to absolutely everyone?
Hmmm. There's a few!! Looking for Alaska, Burn for Burn  and Twilight are probably my most reccomended.
4. Do you prefer characters with whom you can relate, or ones that are completely different to you?
I like a mix, for example I relate to some characters in the Pretty little liars books and love them, but I love Tris from Divergent and we are as different as can be. I don't really have a preference...
5. What is your favourite classic (if any)?
Probably Little Women... I read half of it at least.
6. How many books do you usually read at a time?
If it's a great book just one but generally 10-15. But I'm usually at very different places in each book.
7. What is something interesting about yourself?
I love music as much as books, especially Paramore. Don't know if it classifies as interesting, but still :D
8. If you could meet any author or any book character, who would you pick and why?
I'd say Tiffany from The silver linings playbook but I'd be scared she might start cursing or yelling at me, so probably Augustus AND Hazel from TFiOS.
9. What fictional setting would you choose to live in if you could?
Rosewood from Pretty Little Liars... Lots of murder around there, but still!
10. How long do you wait to write a review?  Do you write it straight after you've finished the book, or do you leave it for a week or more?
I don't like to leave it too long, I like to have memories in my head and the happy/shocked/sad feeling I get when finishing the book.
11. What's your favourite thing about book blogging?
Getting my feelings out... It helps me appreciate books even more.

I tag
Read it write now
 My addiction books
House of no sleep
Kittens and books
Fangirling misses
Enchanted by ya
Let books Bee
My questions:

1- what book made you love reading?
2- are you able to read with noise or distractions around you?
3- what would be the best book you have read this year?
4- do you generally like movie adaptions of books, or not?
5- do you think it's unnecessary to ban books?
6- do you read the same books as your parents or siblings?
7- how many reviews do you do? For example do you review every book you read or just a few?
8- why did you start blogging?
9- how many books do you read (approximately) a week?
10- do you belong to a book club that meets in real life?
11- who is your favourite author?

I'm going to tag more people soon.

Btw it's not compulsory

The silver linings playbook by Matthew Quick

The Silver Linings Playbook
Matthew Quick
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I really liked this book. I laughed, I cried, and wanted more and more. I read it a week after discovering it's existence- like a few others I saw the movie trailer first. I wasn't shocked by much because the trailer tells you tons, like how Tiffany lost her job but I was generally pretty surprised by things- Pats secret, the Nikki-Tiffany thing and more. I give it a 5 even though I didn't understand or relate to the football stuff and it was kind of slow in those bits. I did really love it though, and can't wait to see the movie. I liked the ending, especially that it isn't necessarily a happy one. I felt so sad for Pat with him wanting Apart Time to end and thinking he and Nikki would reunite. I actually cried at some points. I thought Danny seemed awesome with all his sayings- crazy cheddar, etc. and he seemed like a really intriguing character. Cliff seemed nice, maybe a little bit odd.  The stuff between Pat and his dad was very interesting though. It definitely helped make the book the masterpiece it is. I was so happy when Pats mum stood up for herself.
I loved the Montage part, and many other parts too.
On a different note, I thought the book would have much more swearing than it did, especially from hearing reviews of the movie and it's apparent foul language, but it wasn't too terrible, and only really picked up in the last half. Altogether, an amazing book, I might even buy it ;)
People compare this to The Perks of being a Wallflower, but they are pretty different. Perks is YA, while Silver Linings is not. Though the main characters both seem young in the way they express their feelings and thoughts, etc. In Silver Linings I kept forgetting that Pat was over 40. The main characters both have mental illnesses, but Charlie from Perks seems to have more of a PTSD thing than Pat.

the spoiler sessions

When Pat first got letters from Nikki I was so happy for him. However, when I realised it was Tiffany all along..

"I smell a woman’s perfume.
I recognize the scent.
I breathe in deeply to ready myself.
I open my eyes.
“I’m sorry, okay?” she says, but it’s not Nikki. “I never thought it would lead to this. So I’m just going to be honest now. My therapist thought you were stuck in a constant state of denial because  you were never afforded closure, and I thought I might afford you closure by pretending to be Nikki. So I made up the whole liaison thing in an effort to provide you closure, hoping you would snap out of your funk and would be able to move on with your life once you understood that being reunited with your ex-wife was an impossibility. I wrote all the letters myself.
Okay? I never even contacted Nikki. She doesn’t even know you’re sitting here. Maybe she doesn’t even know you are out of the neural health facility. She’s not coming, Pat. I’m sorry.”"

This part, however made me cry quite a lot.

"My eyes burn. My face flushes. Suddenly I realize that for the past two months I have been completely delusional, that Nikki is never coming back and apart time is going to last forever.
Nikki.
Is.
Never.
Coming.
Back.
Never.
I want to hit Tiffany.
I want to pound her face with my knuckles until the bones in my hands crumble and Tiffany is completely unrecognizable, until she no longer has a face from which she can spew lies."

But in the end of it I smiled AND cried.

"She says, “I need you, Pat Peoples; I need you so bad,” and then she begins to cry hot tears onto my skin as she kisses my neck softly and sniffles.
It is a strange thing for her to say, so far removed from a regular woman’s “I love you,” and yet probably more true. It feels good to hold Tiffany close to me, and I remember what my mother said back when I tried to get rid of my friend by asking her to go to the diner with me. Mom said, “You need friends, Pat. Everybody does.”
I also remember that Tiffany lied to me for many weeks; I remember the awful story Ronnie told me about Tiffany’s dismissal from work and what she admitted to in her most recent letter; I remember just how bizarre my friendship with Tiffany has been—but then I remember that no one else but Tiffany could really even come close to understanding how I feel after losing Nikki forever.
I remember that apart time is finally over, and while Nikki is gone for good, I still have a woman in my arms who has suffered greatly and desperately needs to believe once again that she is beautiful.
In my arms is a woman who has given me a Skywatcher’s Cloud Chart, a woman who knows all my secrets, a woman who knows just how messed up my mind is, how many pills I’m on, and yet she allows me to hold her anyway. There’s something honest about all of this, and I cannot imagine any other woman lying in the middle of a frozen soccer field with me—in the middle of a snowstorm even —impossibly hoping to see a single cloud break free of a nimbostratus.
Nikki would not have done this for me, not even on her best day.
So I pull Tiffany a little closer, kiss the hard spot between her perfectly plucked eyebrows, and after a deep breath, I say, “I think I need you too.”"

And one more thing that I loved?

I fell in love with this book so much. I never wanted to stop reading. I still wish I never had.

FIVE STARS.

XO,XO.

The One by Kiera Cass

The One
Kiera Cass
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Sypnosis (goodreads)
"The Selection changed America Singer's life in ways she never could have imagined. Since she entered the competition to become the next princess of IllĂ©a, America has struggled with her feelings for her first love, Aspen—and her growing attraction to Prince Maxon. Now she's made her choice . . . and she's prepared to fight for the future she wants."

WARNING- POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD.

It was obvious from the first book that America was going to win. Her fickleness in this one, though, REALLY got to me. One second she's all, "and in that moment I knew me and Maxon were meant to be" and two pages later she says "Aspen is my life, my true love." Its just.... ughhhhh.

Overall, I liked it. It was just a bit slow and boring in parts. Like the first book in the "trilogy" it at times made me bored. Unlike The Elite which was... perfection.
So no. It wasn't as good as I hoped. I actually read it twice, as I issued it out from my school library and also the public library. I am strange. I started fangirling when I saw it on the school library shelf though, XD.

Some bits seemed like page fillers written just to make a 323 page book. Like Paige and America being shot. My favourite parts, though, were when Elise, Kriss, America and Celeste were all bff-y.

It made me smile, it was nice to see them being all sweet. Especially Celeste.. :,( I cried when I found out what happened to her. WHY COULDN'T THEY KILL AMERICA AND LET KRISS WIN THE SELECTION? Maxon was already planning about the caste removal, and America just got in the way and didn't help. Sure, she put the idea in his head but after that she got REALLY annoying and whiny. And also, I ship Kriss and Maxon. Kraxon? Mriss? Miss? I don't care, they're cute together. <3
And that ending... It was a good ending. Not one I thought was necessary, like I said I ship Kraxon, but it wrapped up the series well. SO WHY ARE THERE TO BE TWO MORE BOOKS ADDED?????
I'll read them anyway. And possibly dislike them, but no biggie. Now. Georgia and August. I didn't really care for August or their relationship, but Georgia was pretty awesome. I have this thing.. it's hard for me to dislike someone after they do something kind. Georgia with that curtsy... that made me like her immediately. And she continued to be America's friend, though I'm sure it'd be difficult. All that Aria Montgomery whining of America's!!!!
I was VERY surprised about Lucy and Aspen. I did realize, when Aspen kept trying to say something to America, that it was that he does love her but he's moved on. He always started with, "I told you I'd always love you, and I mean it-" but America always butted in because she thought he was going to propose or something. And later on when she told him she loved Maxon in pretty much this way:
He was like, "One step ahead of you, gurl," and cuddled Lucy. I was pleased by that. Lucy deserved a happy ending.

Well, I have to go start The Silver Linings Playbook now. Ciao for now!

Eve by Anna Carey

★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆
Eve
Anna Carey
Sypnosis (goodreads)

"Where do you go when nowhere is safe?

Sixteen years after a deadly virus wiped out most of Earth's population, the world is a perilous place. Eighteen-year-old Eve has never been beyond the heavily guarded perimeter of her school, where she and two hundred other orphaned girls have been promised a future as the teachers and artists of the New America. But the night before graduation, Eve learns the shocking truth about her school's real purpose and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she's ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Arden, her former rival from school, and Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust... and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

In this epic new series, Anna Carey imagines a future that is both beautiful and terrifying."

This book was WAAAY too fast paced. on page 10 she finds out what the school is planning for her. Page 12 she meets up with Arden. Page 40 and she's already in love with Caleb.
I HATE CHEESY INSTALOVE.

Apart from that... Eve was SO annoying. She was weak and spineless, and I know that's because the teachers taught her to be that way but STILL.
At one point Caleb has just SAVED HER FREAKING LIFE and she accuses him of wanting to have intercourse with her.
Caleb, though.
He was so sweet. I found myself tearing up a little at the end but ONLY because I was worried he'd be hurt.
He was kind to Eve when she was horrible, and helped her and Arden so many times which I just loved.
I have to admit I was sucked in by the cover. *sigh* They're sooo pretty!!!
My favorite cover would have to be Rise.
The book, on the other hand lacked enough plot. I was surprised by how little story I got out of 318 pages. I am just worried there will be a love triangle. Because you can't have a successful young adult dystopian book without a love triangle.
*grimance*

It was a good read if you have an hour before an appointment or something because it is such a quick read, but not the sort of book you curl up on the couch with.
There really isn't enough book content to write a long review. So, it was better than City of Bones, but nowhere near as good as the likes of Looking for Alaska or Eleanor and Park.

Thanks for reading!!

The Pact by Jodi Picoult

★★★★☆
The Pact
Jodi Picoult
Sypnosis (goodreads)

"For eighteen years the Hartes and the Golds have lived next door to each other, sharing everything from Chinese food to chicken pox to carpool duty-- they've grown so close it seems they have always been a part of each other's lives. Parents and children alike have been best friends, so it's no surprise that in high school Chris and Emily's friendship blossoms into something more. They've been soul mates since they were born.

So when midnight calls from the hospital come in, no one is ready for the appalling truth: Emily is dead at seventeen from a gunshot wound to the head. There's a single unspent bullet in the gun that Chris took from his father's cabinet-- a bullet that Chris tells police he intended for himself. But a local detective has doubts about the suicide pact that Chris has described."

Like all books these days, The Pact was spoiled for me so I knew what happened.
Nontheless, it was a very good book. It took me 3-4 days and I brought it to school, reading at lunch, break, in Science class and on the ride home. After the first 10 pages I was hooked. This is how I describe the book:
With, of course a LOT of mystery. Even though I knew the ending and what happened to Em (which was plain awful) When I  got to the part when Chris told them the truth I was like this

There were definitely some REALLY weird and unnecessary parts, though I knew, and not from spoilers that the four parents were going to have relationship problems.

As for Emily and Chris, I really liked their relationship although I felt that Chris made some REALLY stupid decisions. I was convinced I would cry while reading this book, but surprisingly I didn't.
I couldn't put this book down easily. Jodi writes so well! The wording and style of her writing was really readable.  I think, though, that if I owned the book it may have taken me longer, because I wouldn't have to bring it back to the library. It sounds dumb but I'm happy I was given a pretty cover of the book instead of the one I got the first time I issued it, I mean LOOK AT THIS HIDEOUS COVER

I am REALLY picky with book covers :\
But anyway, this book is highly recommended by me, although I doubt I would buy a copy of it.
Any questions or comments just leave in the comments. :) Thanks for reading!!!

The Fault In Our Stars fun

So I was in the Warehouse yesterday and saw like 20 copies of TFIOS. Being my weird self I grabbed every copy and stuck them in front of EVERY young adult book in the bookshelf. xD The workers are going to kill me someday. I'd put a picture but my phone went flat pretty much the exact SECOND I pulled it out to take a picture. >:( Big downs, Phone.

Prodigy by Marie Lu

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Prodigy
Marie Lu
Synopsis (goodreads)

Injured and on the run, it has been seven days since June and Day barely escaped Los Angeles and the Republic with their lives. Day is believed dead having lost his own brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic's most wanted traitor. Desperate for help, they turn to the Patriots - a vigilante rebel group sworn to bring down the Republic. But can they trust them or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games?

Day and June have escaped from the Republic, and Day is understandably depressed about his brother, John who was sacrificed in Legend.

They meet up with the Patriots and they agree to help Day and June, but in return they must assassinate the new elector.

This book annoyed me constantly. Firstly the excessive use of, "Yeah?"

Examples:
"Eat something, yeah?"
"Not too shabby, yeah?"
"Its been bombed, yeah?"
AND SO ON AND ON.

Then there was this.

"Me, Pascao and the other runners spend a full half day above ground..."

HOW DO YOU SPEND A FULL HALF DAY????
Apart from that, yeah. It was an okay book. June had even more likeable traits than before. She wasn't lovesick, she didn't need to have Day with her all the time. She was a strong, independent heroine. And I can only imagine how betraying what she's known her whole life would feel. I was pleased she got her dog, Ollie back though. :) Small things count.

Now, Day. Goodness. How do I describe you?
He was annoying. Definitely. There were a lot of times he did stupid stuff and I'd be like

Minus Emily and the axe of course. Tess. I am so proud of Tess. She wasn't the cute, sweet little girl who followed Day around anymore. She had definitely had a lot of character growth.
Thomas... I had mixed feelings to be honest. Not sure how I think of him...
Razor I just hated from page 20. Or whatever page it was he first appeared. He seemed untrustable.
Anden. Oh, Anden... Very Prince Maxon, I thought. He was so sweet. Therefore I ship him and June and Tess and Day.

And that ending..... Marie, that is why this book gets 4\5. That beautiful, poetic, tragic and life ruining ending... those last words.
:,(
Will definitely read Champion.

What did you think? Was it good? Was it bad? Should #TAY be a thing? (Tess and Day)
AND the big question: Will things ever be sorted out with the Republic?
Thanks for reading :)
And sorry for the gif bomb.

On the topic of books

So I'm trying to read two books at the moment, Allegiant by Veronica Roth and Champion by Marie Lu. I think the problem is a) I'm still ill and b) they both finish up a series but these are taking me forever.
Also, this sentence in Prodigy by Marie Lu annoyed me- Me, Pascao and the other runner spend a full half day..."
How exactly do you spend a full half day?? I can't even. Also haha-

This made me laugh so much. Oh! Spoiler alert for Allegiant and TFIOS.
I feel kinda evil now. Oh well. Oooh! Also I'm going to put up my Prodigy review sometime soon-ish? Tomorrow's teacher only day so maybe then. Though I'm supposed to do the ice challenge then. I think I'm just gonna donate the $100 to cancer because it IS charity. If I do the ice challenge I might link to it or something. Ugh I'm so bad with technology. And now I'm rambling on to maybe no-one. Ah well. Got to go back to Goodreads people! Bye

I should probably list some books I love.

Here are the books I adore

-The fault in our stars
-Looking For Alaska
-Burn for burn
-Twilight
-Pretty little liars
-Divergent
-Harry potter
-Fallen

Hello!!

Hello, I'm Aria!! *waving*
Here are things I love:
The fault in our stars <3
Harry potter
Taylor Swift
Paramore
Twilight!
Oh, I found this in my schools toilets:
I salute whoever did this.
I can be overly obsessive of things (XD) and I'm always on goodreads :)
